and it was summer

after two long and cold weeks of rain, during which i had to get out some of the clothes that helped me through the winter, the sun finally decided to come out. so sue and i went to the sue to check up on the sue. huh? did i just write that? i need to go to bed. i wanted to say that sue and i went to the ZOO to check up on the ANIMALS.

(nevermind my new hair cut... hey, what do you expect for 4 euros.)

we saw these big animals:

and these small ones too:

and because the sun didn't want to stop shining we got out the next day as well to explore some lesser-known parts of prague. you can't tell from the picture but to get there we had to climb up a few steep and slippery slopes and walk on some train tracks (which i thought were out of use but apparently they're not... because there was a train).

we also tried to venture into a field but had to turn back because of my allergies. until that point i had been fine but for the next three hours i just couldn't stop sneezing. thanks for putting up with me, sue!

well, that's that. but i'll throw in this just for fun.

have a nice day/night

my special lady

you may know her or you may not know her.
you may have heard of her or you may not have heard of her.
in any case, this is sue, my special lady:

wait. hang on...

no, that's still not quite...

better, but...

nice! so this is sue. in the last few years she has been bouncing all over the globe, working for hospitals, model agencies, tour companies, sushi bars and fruit picking companies. lucky for me, she's in prague now! currently sue sells crystals by the old town square (not seashells - don't get confused).

today the weather was absolutely fabulous so we decided to go for a hike in revnice. we were unsuccessful in locating the trail so we walked through the forest for two hours hoping to come across it by chance. and we did! we were just sitting there, eating our salad when three people meandered past us not 10 meters from where we were (the first people we encountered up until then). we followed the trail, hoping to find the restaurant at the top of the mountain which we had been promised but we must have gone the wrong way again... in any case we both had a lot of fun and survived and i got her down the mountain again in one smiling piece:

there, thats good.

on my pond

ever since spring arrived, prague has become overcrowded with tourists; the trams and metros bring back vivid memories of tokyo's trains at rush hour and the downtown area has started to resemble the oktoberfest.

how do i feel? here, let kermit tell you:

green

a great man once said:

"it's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how i keep from going under, huhuhuh huh huh"

my thoughts exactly; over the last year i have really gotten into plants. i started with just two but now i have ten. the reason i don't buy anymore is that fortunately my flat mates are also into plants which brings the total number to something around 60 or 70. and most of them are still small so just imagine in a few months...

with plants come insects. there now seem to be around 10 little flies for each plant so today i put the plants out on our balcony in the hopes that the flies would leave or at least just be eaten up by something. we'll see if that works. for now, meet the plants:

there are also some newcomers which i am quite excited about. i managed to grow from some seeds i was given by my sister (thanks!). i had forgotten what type of plant they were supposed to be but i soon realized that what they like to do is this:

(climb). i planted them on the 9th or april, not even four weeks ago and look! over 52cm high! all i can say is keep up the good work.
